ABOUT US

Out of pure passion and love for the beautiful game of football, a dream became reality in the form of RB6, for Rameez Behardien, the brain behind this great initiative.

With a background of working with kids and various sports clubs in and around Cape Town, in 2011 he was approached by parents to assist their kids with extra football coaching sessions. After a couple of years of private coaching, the next step was taken, and in 2013 RB6 was formed.

Rameez says, “Since then I have coached a variety of kids aged from 4 years old and up, assisting them with developing their weaknesses and improving their strengths. The results were positive, and the demand became greater. I have a great passion for kids in general and being able to help them improve and develop both on and off the field is a real blessing. By no means can RB6 guarantee your child will turn out to be the next superstar, but we can guarantee your child will be taught basic skills and techniques as well as equipping them with fundamental life skills such as team work, respect, discipline and social skills through sport. These skills will help and guide your child to not only become a more competent sportsman but also build self-confidence in everyday life.“

Rameez's love for youth development, coupled with his love for sports in general, opened up RB6 to more than just football. A new program called Movement Skills was then introduced. This program was designed to teach the overall use of the body through Fundamental Movement Skills. Fundamental movement skills are movement patterns that involve various body parts and provide the basis of physical literacy. These skills are the foundational movements to more specialised and complex skills used in play, games and specific sports. This program has become an important foundation block for kids to go and play a variety of sports.

Following the success of this RB6 has turned into a sports hub.

Rameez has a great appetite for learning and gathering knowledge, he was a coach at Ajax Cape Town, known too many as the best football academy in South Africa for close to 10 years, he was involved in talent scouting as well as setting up the 1st touch scouting program, which the club uses to recruit new players for the U12 age group.

He has also traveled internationally on numerous occasions, where he has coached against some of the biggest clubs in the world in countries such as Spain, Germany, Netherlands and Portugal. Coached at the prestigious Terborg Toernooi (Netherlands), rated amongst the best U19 tournaments in the world where clubs like Liverpool FC, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspurs, Club Brugge, Vitesse and the mighty Palmeiras (Brasil)  compete. The Spax Cup (Germany) against teams like Middlesborough, Heerenveen, Athletico Paranaense, Hamburg and FC Midtjlland. At the Iber Cup in Spain & Portugal he coached against academy teams of OS Belenenses, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, FC Fortuna, Madrid Fusion and many many more.

More recently he visited the United Kingdom where he spent close to 4 weeks visiting various Premier league and amateur clubs, learning about the culture and processes of development.
