ABOUT US

Out of pure passion and love for sports, a dream became reality in the form of RB6, for Rameez Behardien, the brain behind this great initiative.

With a background of working with kids and various sports clubs in and around Cape Town, in 2011, Behardien was approached by parents to assist their kids with extra coaching sessions. After a couple of years of private coaching, the next step was taken, and in 2013 RB6 was formed.

Behardien explains, “Since then I have coached a diverse group of kids ranging from four years old to adults, assisting them with developing their weaknesses and improving their strengths. The results were positive, and the demand became greater. I have a genuine passion for kids, and it’s a blessing to be able to assist them in both their athletic and personal development. By no means can RB6 guarantee your child will turn out to be the next superstar, but we can guarantee your child will be taught basic skills and techniques as well as equipping them with fundamental life skills like teamwork, respect, discipline and social skills through sport. These skills will not only make them better athletes but also help them build self-confidence in everyday life.”

Rameez’s passion for youth development and sports in general paved the way for RB6 to offer a wide range of sporting activities. A new in-house program called, Movement Skills was introduced, designed to teach children the fundamental use of their bodies through various movement patterns. These fundamental movement skills form the basis of physical literacy and are the building blocks for more specialised and complex skills used in play, games, and specific sports.

RB6 has since become a sports hub, providing a solid foundation for children to explore and engage in a variety of sports.

Rameez has an insatiable appetite for learning and acquiring knowledge. For nearly a decade, he served as a coach at Ajax Cape Town, renowned as one of South Africa’s premier football academies. His expertise extended beyond coaching, as he actively participated in talent scouting and collaborated with Sergio Dos Santos to establish the inaugural Touch scouting program. This program served as a crucial tool for the club in recruiting new players for the U12 age group.

He has also travelled internationally on numerous occasions, where he has coached against some of the world’s biggest clubs in countries like Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and Portugal. He coached at the prestigious Terborg Toernooi in the Netherlands, one of the best U19 tournaments globally, where clubs like Liverpool FC, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspurs, Club Brugge, Vitesse, and the formidable Palmeiras (Brazil) compete. He also coached at the Spax Cup in Germany, where he faced teams like Middlesborough, Heerenveen, Athletico Paranaense, Hamburg, and FC Midtjlland. Additionally, he coached academy teams from OS Belenenses, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, FC Fortuna, Madrid Fusion, and many more at the Iber Cup in Spain and Portugal.

More recently, he visited the United Kingdom, spending nearly four weeks visiting various Premier League and amateur clubs to learn about the country’s culture and development processes.
